These are decent jobs with salaries, pensions, and benefits.  Remote work has evolved from freelance and gig work, and with that, the skills required have changed. At Grow Remote, we are building a remote ready workforce in Ireland, led by some of the world’s largest remote employers. Our programmes are fun, engaging, and wrapped up in community. We’re really eager to see you succeed.

What We Offer

Beginner Course

This course is designed for those new to remote work, or with some experience. While it is beginner-friendly, you will be expected to make an effort to have your basic set up of platforms like Zoom, Slack and Meta Quest (Oculus) .

Industry Identified Skills

The course includes all of the skills and knowledge that remote employers are looking for and to set you up for success in your remote work search. This course is part of our work to ensure Ireland has a competitive ‘Remote Ready Workforce’.

Mentors to help you become your best self

You will get the opportunity to hear from those working with remote teams. During the course, we will welcome speakers ranging from remote employers and managers to those working in remote teams, and remote experts on areas such as communication and well being.

100% Fully Funded Programmes

This is an 8 week, fully funded program, with a minimum mandatory time investment of 4-6 hours per week. Enrol before 20 April 2022, 11:59 pm UTC, to join our next group.

What You Will Learn

Introduction you to the concept of remote working, understanding how remote work differs from other modes of work.
Introduction to the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies required to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally within your team as part of a remote team.

Introduction to Virtual Reality. We will discuss the history, current and future use in the workplace. We will also discuss the basic usage of a HMD (Head-mount display) like Meta Quest (Oculus). 

Understand what company culture is and why it’s important. Identify ways to investigate what the company culture is. Be able to list some of the ways remote teams influence a company’s culture.
Be able to recognise how self-awareness can help you become a successful remote worker, to demonstrate how to manage your energy levels when working remotely successfully, practice good time management, and identify and effectively manage stress.
Learn to identify existing transferable skills and how they are useful across different roles and business cases
Be able to understand the virtual hiring process and identify the differences in career progression in a remote setting versus an office setting, and how to work with management to make your work visible and continue to develop your career as part of a remote team
Learn how to set up and perfect your LinkedIn Profile for remote work to improve business networking

My name is Mary Theresa Lowndes. I am 64 years old. I came from a very disadvantaged background. And I have a stammer caused by severe corporal punishment in school. But I have found temporary remote work as a content and research analyst.
